MOSQUITO SERVICING
MOSQUITO SERVICING
Mosquito servicing BUILT for Charleston.
Living in the Lowcountry means warm nights, shady yards, summer storms… and mosquitoes that never seem to quit. Charleston’s climate gives mosquitoes everything they need to breed fast and bite often. That’s why Reif Environmental offers a mosquito program designed specifically for our area and our weather patterns.
Our season runs from March through October, which is when mosquito activity stays consistently high.
To keep your yard comfortable all season, we use a simple but powerful two-step system that targets both adult mosquitoes and the larvae they hatch from.
How Our Mosquito Program Works
Fogging for Adult Mosquitoes (Even Months)
During the even-numbered months — April, June, August, and October — we fog your yard. Fogging is the quickest way to knock down the adult mosquitoes that are actively biting.
A normal fogging visit includes:
Treating your yard perimeter
Targeting shrubs, shaded spots, and foliage
Covering patios, decks, and outdoor living areas
Hitting the high-activity mosquito zones mosquitoes love to rest in
This dramatically cuts down the adult population so you can actually enjoy being outside.
Larvae Traps (Odd Months)
During the odd-numbered months — March, May, July, and September — we service your mosquito larvae traps. These traps interrupt the mosquito lifecycle before new mosquitoes ever have a chance to hatch.
They work quietly in the background and continue reducing mosquito activity between your fogging visits.
Breeding is where most mosquito problems start, so treating larvae gives you long-lasting, steady relief.
Why This Two-Part System Works So Well
Most mosquito companies only fog. Fogging helps a lot, but Charleston mosquitoes breed so fast that they come right back — especially after heavy rain.
By pairing fogging with larvae traps, your yard stays protected from both ends:
Fewer adults flying around and biting
Fewer eggs turning into adults in the first place
This gives your yard cleaner, longer-lasting mosquito reduction all season long.
What’s Included With Each Visit
Every service includes a yard evaluation, the appropriate fogging or trap service for the month, and a walkthrough of any standing-water risk areas. We look at shaded zones, foliage thickness, drainage, and common breeding spots to keep your yard as protected as possible.
If mosquito activity spikes between visits, we’ll come back and take care of it at no charge.
Safe for Kids, Pets, and Outdoor Living
Our treatments are designed to be safe once they dry. Families use their yards every day, and our approach keeps that a priority. No harsh smells, no messy residue — just clean, targeted mosquito control.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are mosquitoes so bad in Charleston?
Warm nights, humidity, standing water, marshland, and heavy summer storms all create perfect breeding conditions.
How soon will I notice a difference after fogging?
Most customers see a significant improvement within a day.
Do larvae traps really help?
Yes. They break the breeding cycle and prevent future population spikes.
What if my yard floods or we get a week of heavy rain?
We offer free re-service if mosquito activity suddenly increases.
Do you treat big backyards and shaded properties?
Yes. Bigger and shadier yards tend to have the worst mosquito pressure, and we specialize in treating them.
